I love to photograph animals outside, but sometimes the time of year, weather, or the animal's lack of comfort level in new places prevents that so a studio session is a great alternative.
A studio pet portrait session is an opportunity to capture an array of images of your pet different from what I might have made in an on-location session where we use more of the landscape available to us to create variety in the photographs. A studio session lends itself well to focusing on the details of your pet. Their goofy grin, Blue Steel gaze (Zoolander reference there in case you were head-scratching), look of bliss, furry ears, golden eyes, all the bits and bobs we love most about them.
The point is, a studio session isn't a lesser option, just a different one (and it doesn't have to be dark and stiff-looking either). Check out Jackson below and I dare you not to smile. Everything about it just makes me happy. Maybe portraits on a colorful background will go better with your home's decor? Or perhaps you just had your dog or cat groomed and you want them to look perfect in their pictures, then a studio session is an excellent choice for your needs.

Angela Schneider - I am absolutely in love with Jackson and every single one of the images from his session. That blue background is so WOW. What color would you use for a white dog?
