It's week 45 of the Pet Photography 52 Week Project and the theme is "shelter". Normally I'd take this opportunity to shine a spotlight on a deserving shelter animal but COVID 19 has continued to keep shuttered the volunteer programs at the local shelters where I volunteer, Carrollton and Coppell in the Dallas - Fort Worth Metroplex. Luckily I can still lend a hand to a number of rescue groups in the area so when Lone Star Labrador Rescue asked if I could take some glamour shots of Delilah, I jumped at the chance!
Delilah is a full-figured girl (aren't we all right now? COVID 19, the gift that just keeps on taking!) who weighs in at 84 pounds so needs to loose 10-12 and start living her best life with a furever family; could that be you? She's about 5 years old so all those puppy shenanigans are in the rear view mirror with this sweet girl. Delilah is spayed, healthy, vaccinated and on heartworm prevention. She ignores cats, loves people and gets along well with other dogs but can be possessive about food so Lone Star Lab Rescue is looking to place her in a home where she'll be the only spoiled princess in residence! She's house trained and settles easily in her crate but could use a bit of leash training to be a star.
Contact the rescue if you'd like to learn more about Delilah and find out how you can meet her.
