As we enter our 4th week under a shelter-in-place order for Dallas County, I'm happy to report that everyone's healthy here and we aim to keep it that way; staying home and saving lives. To be honest, not much has actually changed for our pets. My husband is retired and I'm home most days as the majority of my photography work is on the weekends and I teach dog training classes at night. I'm actually around a bit more as my training class schedule has been reduced and what I am teaching is via online streaming and of course photography is on hiatus during the crisis.
It's week 16 of the Pet Photography 52 Week Project and the subject is isolated, something that all of us around the world are experiencing right now. Rather than head out with my big-girl camera and a plan to create an awesome image of one of my pups, isolated in a large field, I decided to make it a bit more intimate this week and included everyone (except my camera shy husband) in the house. No fancy camera, no "let's try that one more time". I didn't even ask for help from my husband to pose one of the dogs by being the treat dispenser. Nope, I just carried around my cell phone in the house for a few days and snapped what I thought best represented how our pets spend their days. For a cohesive look, I processed them all in black and white but apart from that, no heavy retouching either. I hope you enjoy this little glimpse into our home.
Jiffy look up! JIFFY LOOK UP! (such a cat)
We're Bored. Like Really Bored. Never Been This Bored Before (actually, this is every day).

Darlene - I love all the black and whites! These are great images and I'm impressed you just used a cell phone. I love the "clicking on the image" to learn more! Great idea!

Linda A Perdue - Great idea, I don't take enough photographs of the dogs just being themselves - maybe I need to do that a bit more! Our dogs are bored.....you should see the happy dance that is happening when we say let's go for a ride and they could care less where! We usually take them out to breakfast once a week and then out to walk on the trails at a park....by the time we can do that, it will be pretty hot here in Florida. :(

Angela Schneider - You did all these with just your phone? Oh my goodness. That is some serious phonetography skill. I love the one of Rooney pouting around the door jamb.
