I have to agree with Frank Sinatra on that one, I too think that "orange is the happiest color" (yeah, he actually said that!), hence why it's my key brand color and why I use it all the time (and apparently a LOT with black and white animals!) in my pet photography, especially in my studio in historic downtown Carrollton.
Orange just makes me feel better and I love the way a bit of it on a simple white background really makes an image pop. I also love orange cats (our own cat Jiffy is orange and white) and relish the opportunity to photograph them for clients and local rescue groups.
So without a doubt, I was happy to see that this week's theme in the Pet Photography 52 Week Project was orange. While I did look in my archives for how I've used orange in the past, I also created some new images with Stella the party poodle this past weekend. When her session was finished, I asked her pet parents if they minded if I took a few images of her with some orange flowers and they willingly obliged my request and she rocked the floral crown!
