2020 has been a year for the record books. Not only did we have the Coronavirus, but here in the Dallas - Fort Worth metroplex we've also had a couple of months that broke decades-long rain fall records along with oppressive humidity.
Our annual average is about 65% humidity with May being most humid month and August being the least. Well, that's not the case this year! I had a session in late August where the humidity level was 96% at eight o'clock in the morning! This level of humidity, along with our average summer temps in the mid nineties, makes for some beastly, unbearable days and its weighing on everyone, including the animals at the Fort Worth Zoo; nobody feels like doing much in this kind of weather.
When I saw the theme was "action" for week 37 in the Pet Photography 52 Week Project, I though "bah". Who wants to run around in this weather? Then I remembered my recent zoo outing and thinking that all the animals were laying pretty low and decided to do an "anti-action" post for the topic. The Fort Worth Zoo has been repeatedly voted one of the best five zoos in the nation. It's a beautiful facility and a not-to-be-missed attraction if you're ever in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
