The "Hair of the Dog" community is a worldwide group of passionate pet photographers. We stay in regular communication via a Facebook group for sharing of work, asking questions and celebrating successes. Each month there is a contest with a theme to which you can submit up to two images of your interpretation of that theme. January's theme was "Lazy Days" and I submitted the image below of an adoption photograph I took of a Coppell Humane Society kitten named Ollie (who I have on great authority is about to become a foster failure - because doh - when you're that cute, who'd let you go?). The image was selected for the Top Ten from almost 200 images. Even though it's an informal competition, it's the company that I'm in - the best of the best pet photographers from around the world - that makes this an incredible honor for me.
