Silver Sessions, Photography for Older and Terminally Ill Pets
It's one of the tragic realities of life that our pets are never with us long enough and every one of us has had the thought, "I can't imagine my life without you."
Our pets are our family. They make us laugh, sometimes cry, and love us unconditionally. Whether they are by our side or not, we will love them forever. I offer Silver Sessions to celebrate the older pet in our lives with their silver muzzle or face ticked with a few gray hairs.
Sometimes it may be at the end of their journey here on earth or for those that have recently received an unfortunate diagnosis, but are still their happy selves.
These sessions are crafted to honor and celebrate your pet and the relationship you have together, capturing the little things that make them special to you; the expressions, the spots, the whiskers or their paw in your hand while they're still with you and as you want to remember them.
Silver Sessions create images that acknowledge and honor your family member and the bond you have with each other in a dignified and beautiful way; this will often help you through the grieving process to come. It's also inevitable that some details of your pet will fade from your memory over time. The images and prints that are created in a Silver Session will give you touchable memories to celebrate your pet forever.
From a Client
Hi Tracy,
I hope you remember us. You spent an entire morning at Lake Grapevine with us photographing my Doberman, Ghost. Crazy dog went right into the lake and I love the pics where you can tell he’s wet. We got a book and an enlargement and I wanted to tell you how happy I am that we did all that. I was a little worried about the cost but did it anyway, and now I treasure those pictures and that memory even more. I lost Ghost Nov 11 - he was in surgery trying to figure out what was wrong, and the answers weren’t good. We let him go during surgery. It’s been the hardest thing ever for me, and those pictures mean the world. So thank you from the bottom of my heart. Please tell your potential clients that it will be the best money they spend on their furry family members.
I suspect we will be back to you for some pics of a rescue we got back in May but that’s for another email.
Take care, and thanks again. Sheri B.
Our Own Penny
I don't regret much in my life. I consider that every experience has made me who I am today. That being said, one thing that I do regret is that we never had professional portraits taken of our first dog, Penny. If you read about me, you know that the name Penny Whistle honors her.
This is the day we had to say goodbye to her. I was not yet a photographer but at least thought to have my husband take a few images with our point-and-shoot camera. This is the best image we have and of course I know what happened a few hours later.
I'm grateful for the various snapshots we have of her over the years, but what I wouldn't give to have a beautiful portrait of her that showed just how handsome a dog she was.
Is the time right?
If your pet has progressed to the point where you wouldn't want to remember them this way, then I suggest you simply focus on enjoying the time you have left with them and be grateful for the pictures you have when they were healthy and don't try to force new photographs that may be painful to look at once their gone.
