It's week 25 of the Pet Photography 52 Week Project and the theme is "Mr. Blue Sky". Well, we haven't seen a lot of that around the Dallas - Fort Worth metroplex lately because we've have so much rain and severe weather and this past week as no exception, so into the archives I go. In between the raid drops last month, I got together with a group of talented photographers from around the country for a three-day equine photography workshop in north Texas (Pilot Point, Aubrey, Valley View areas) where this was one of the last images captured one day.
I executed it exactly as I wanted; shot from down low with a wide angle lens to get above the horizon line and a shallow depth of the field so the rider was slightly out of focus. I loved it, except for the blah sky. No problem. I actually take pictures of interesting skies all the time and keep them "on file" so when a great image like this comes along, I can drop in a blue sky from a sunnier day.

Elaine - Love this image. Ditto on the rain. I do the same with skies. :)
