The 5th annual Clear the Shelters event happened on Saturday August 17th and all indicators are that it was, yet again, a rousing success. I volunteered at one of the municipal shelters I regularly photograph at, the City of Carrollton Animal Services and Adoption Center in Carrollton, Texas. At the end of the day 29 animals were adopted; 19 dogs and 10 cats. Yahoo! Apart from answering questions, shuttling dogs to and fro for meetings and list tracking, I worked to capture the days events with my camera - from beginning to end.
I was scratching my head for what to do for this week's theme of "metal" in the Pet Photography 52 Week Project when it dawned on me. Doh! The shelter! There's so much metal in a shelter that sometimes it can feel like a cold pace, but that all changed on Saturday when smiles were abound to warm it up.

Linda Perdue - Great idea - I was also trying to figure this one out but ended up not getting the time to shoot this past week.
