As I've shared in earlier blog posts, shelter photography is near-and-dear to my heart, so for Clear the Shelters on July 23, 2016 I was happy to spend my day capturing the fun and excitement of this event at the two shelters where I volunteer; the City of Coppell Animal Services and Adoption Center and the City of Carrollton Animal Services and Adoption Center.
Nearly 700 shelters across the country teamed up with NBC owned television stations and Telemundo for Clear the Shelters, a nationwide pet adoption drive that helps find loving homes for animals in need. I'm beyond thrilled to report that over 45,000 animals were adopted nationwide as a result of this event with over 3,300 in the metroplex area! Carrollton had 32 adoptions and my hometown shelter Coppell CLEARED with 19 adoptions!
It's not portrait photography, and the florescent lighting doesn't do anyone any favors, but it feeds the soul and you can't deny the smiles on everyone's faces (you may recognize some familiar ones in the Shelter Animals gallery). I'd love to hear from you if you're interested in portraits for your family (both two and four legged), you can contact me here.

Robin - Thanks Tracy for documenting all the happy families with their new 4 legged members. It is salve for the soul.
