North Texas equestrians, I'm ready for you! I recently had the opportunity to join a group of equine photographers at a workshop in St. Augustine Florida hosted by Fast Horse Photography and Phyllis Burchett Photography. We spent two days photographing gorgeous horses and ponies and the beautiful woman of all ages that love them (and the outfits!).
I fulfilled a dream of mine to photograph horses on the beach (so worth the 5am wake up call!) as well as at other unique locations in the area (I will forever dream about Spanish Moss now). I look forward to sharing more images from that special weekend in future blog posts as well as on my social media outlets (see the lower left of any page on this site for shortcuts to those).
This post features Kate riding Winterhawk because her stunning emerald green gown was perfect for this week's theme of "green" in the 52 Week Pet Photography Project. It was cold and blustery that morning but Kate braved the weather and we captured some stunning, epic images of the two of them. I've been trying out some new, more artistic retouching techniques and used those to create a more painterly image in the last portrait below; what do you think?
