Dallas - Fort Worth Pet and Equine Photography
One look at my Instagram feed will tell you that I photograph more than just dogs in and around the Dallas - Fort Worth metroplex, but I still get the question so let me start this week's post off by stating that yes, I photograph all animals. If you love 'em and they're important to you, then I want to photograph them and your relationship. I regularly have cats in the studio as well as dogs and puppies. I photograph dogs on location as well as horses. I've had bunnies, Guinea pigs and even a bearded dragon in front of my lens and I've loved every minute of it. I am a pet and equine photographer, not just a dog photographer.
A few lucky ones among us have been blessed to have a horse in their life for decades, but that can also make their loss all the more painful, leaving such a large whole in your life. Unfortunately our dogs are never with us long enough, making their lives seem so fleeting in comparison to ours. Professional portraits of your pet can help them live forever in your heart and mind through vivid, colorful images that you can enjoy every single day. Images that capture every quirk, every look, every little thing that you love so much about your pet and never want to forget.
We all have photographs of our animals on our phone, but how many do you have that truly represent your relationship together? One where your arm isn't outstretched holding the phone for a selfie? One where you're not worried about looking at the camera, hitting the shutter button, making sure everything is in frame. One where you're 100% focused on your pet, to the exclusion of everything around you.
I've never had a client regret having pictures taken with their dog, cat or horse, only that they waited too long to do so. Don't wait, tomorrow is not guaranteed. I hate saying that because it can sound like a mild threat, but only just this week I met some people in a park during a pet portrait session and they struck up a conversation saying that they had recently lost a beloved pet unexpectedly and so wished they had beautiful pictures of her to remember her by. I expressed my sympathies to them and repeated my mantra of "don't wait" to which they agreed and said "never again".
