There's something about an orange cat. Maybe it was all those Morris the Cat commercials I watched as a kid - and come to think of it - maybe that's why we call our own orange and white cat, "Jiffy the Cat. Very rarely "Jiffy", sometimes "JTC", but most of the time we use his full, given name of "Jiffy the Cat". But I digress, this post is about the orange cat, Tater Pete (@taterpetethekitty on Instagram if you're interested in following his feline antics).
When I learned that Tater was an all orange cat, I decided to double down on the color and photograph him against an orange background in my Carrollton studio. When retouching the images, I added an orange peel texture as well, just for fun.
In the beginning Tater wasn't too sure about this whole fancy portrait process so mom stepped in to comfort him and of course those made for some wonderful, relationship images. After a few minutes Tater warmed up and started doing all the normal cat things and we captured a bunch of fun images showing off this guy's personality.
It's week 5 of the 2021 Pet Photography 52 Week Project and the theme is "photographer's choice", I choose to share this ray of orange sunshine with you.
